The MTR 50 km race is an exciting and challenging trail run that will take participants through the stunning landscapes of the Kathmandu valley and its surrounding mountains. With the race starting from Badikhel, runners will be able to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the breathtaking views of the area before the race begins. On the morning of the race, runners will be treated to the sight of the snow-capped peaks and the ridge line in front of them, providing the right dose of motivation for their race.

The 50 km race will start from Badikhel, above Godavari, where participants will be board the bus to Start Location in the morning of 6th April. After a brief gear check and Race brief, the race will start exactly at 7:00. You will join the trail where 100KM and 100 Miles started a day earlier. You will meet a lot of them on the route.

Course

The MTR 50 km course for the race will start from Badikhel and traverse through a challenging terrain, offering stunning views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks and the ridge line. Participants will be tested physically and mentally as they make their way through the course, but with proper preparation and determination, they will have the opportunity to experience the beauty of the region while pushing their limits. The race will conclude at Single Tree, where runners can reflect on their accomplishments and enjoy the satisfaction of having completed a demanding and rewarding journey.

Finish Line

The MTR 50 km race will culminate at Single Tree, a small village located in the valley. Upon reaching the finish line, runners will be welcomed in a celebratory atmosphere, where they will be greeted with warm drinks, snacks, and a memorable medal to commemorate their achievements. Finishers will have the opportunity to relax, recover, and share their experiences with other participants, friends, and families. The finish line area will also have medical personnel available to assist any runners who may need assistance or care. The race finish at Single Tree marks not only the end of the race but also the beginning of a lifetime of memories and a sense of accomplishment.

Mandatory Gear List

For the participants of the MTR 50 KM, the race will commence from Badikhel on 6th April at 7 am. This early start is designed to maximize daylight hours and ensure that the race is completed in a timely manner. To accommodate all participants, transportation from Kathmandu to Badikhel will be provided on the evening of the 6th of April early morning. We will communicate the exact location and time on whats app, email and SMS. However, you can choose to stay on a hotel around badikhel a day earlier. We can share a list of hotels in walking distance to the start location.

Mandatory gear is a crucial aspect of any race, and the MTR 50 KM is no exception. Participants are required to carry the following equipment:

  • Hydration pack with a minimum capacity of 2 litres
  • Mobile phone with credit and the GPX trail uploaded on a preferred app, as well as the emergency race number saved
  • A power banks
  • A headlight with extra batteries
  • A rain jackets
  • A long sleeve tops
  • Sunglasses and a cap
  • 500 calories of food (bars, gels, etc.)
  • Hydration salt (Jeevan Jal)
  • Trail running shoes

It is important to note that all participants will be checked for mandatory gear before the race begins. This requirement is in place to ensure the safety and success of each participant. Failing to bring the mandatory gear may result in disqualification from the race.
